Thank you for helping lead them in this task!", and "Thank you so much for having our daughter at The Firehouse Theatre this Spring! She loved being Little Red and learned a lot and had so much fun with so many talented friends! We are so grateful for this amazing opportunity!"

Metrocrest Services

The Civic League has played an important role in our community for 60 years. Likewise, they have been a steady partner of Metrocrest Services since the early 1990’s. Both monetary and volunteer support has enriched the lives of the families and seniors we serve. Recently, The Civic League has provided critical support to our Food Pantry to ensure seniors in our community had access to nutrition. Through this grant, 54,000 meals were provided to address Food Insecurity in the Metrocrest area. To illustrate that fact, I wanted to share a story of one of your neighbors.

Bonnie is a vibrant 75-year-old who does not drive, which makes it difficult to go to the grocery store. “I’ve had two hip replacements and two shoulder replacements,” explained Bonnie. “I haven’t driven since my first hip surgery.” Metrocrest Services has been integral in Bonnie’s recovery efforts. Through the Senior Transportation program, Bonnie receives food deliveries from the Food Pantry and trips to the grocery store. “I keep waiting for the new building open up so I can go to the Food Pantry again”, said Bonnie. Organizations, such as The Civic League, make it possible for Bonnie and other elderly residents to have access to nutritious food and other personal hygiene items they may not be able to afford.

The Civic League, through various initiatives, provides support to many local nonprofits and college scholarships to young adults. Their work in the community has made a significant impact on many. Your support of The Civic League is key to a thriving community.

Here's what our Grant Recipients are saying...

Children's Advocacy Center for North Texas

Since 2006, The Civic League has donated over $53,000 to Children's Advocacy Center for North Texas.  From providing direct client services support such as childcare, medical supplies, play therapy items, and furniture to forensic interview equipment, video conferencing and training equipment, Rainbow Room emergency food and clothing, and other Family Advocacy program support, The Civic League has been there.  Most recently, grants have ensured that the Center's children receive the medical care they need to help them on their path towards healing and justice.

With the award provided in May 2023, we were able to purchase some very important medical supplies (swabs, gowns, gloves, etc.), received prescriptions at a discounted rate (particularly STD testing and antibiotics) for our children who came to the Center due to sex trafficking, and pay for necessary lab work to ensure the physical wellness of our kids.  During the first quarter of the grant (June, July and August) funding equated to just over $100 for each child seen.

Thank you and all the members of The Civic League for your support of our mission.  We could not do what we do without the community supporting us and our kids.
