The Civic League was founded in 1963 and dedicated to community service. We provide financial support to the cities, schools and community at large. We promote philanthropic, educational and social work, thereby improving the quality of life for all citizens. We strive to fill unmet needs by initiating new services and expanding existing ones.
The Foundation manages corporate and individual designated funds with annual budgets close to $100,000. To date, over $2.3 million has been returned to the local community in grants and scholarships.

Thanks to the generous support of the community and the hard work of members, The Civic League’s annual home tour in November 2011 raised over $60k to distribute in the form of scholarships and civic grants during spring 2012.
A Civic League member will contact applicants after all proposals have been received and reviewed. Informal interviews will be conducted, followed by a formal interview process to be held in March. Committee members will evaluate proposals based on need, unique service provided and number of citizens impacted. Civic grant awards range from $1,000 to $5,000 and are distributed at the last general meeting of the season each May. Applications for smaller grants may be made in letter format throughout the year.
