THE CIVIC LEAGUE CELEBRATES 50 YEARS of SERVING!
                                               1963 - 2013

In 1963 Ramona Upfield asked two friends to join her in forming an organization that would focus on improving their community.  Fifty years ago that community was Farmers Branch and improving the community meant bringing artists and programs to the city and providing $600 for a sprinkler system at Don Showman Field.

Today, two of those three generous women are still living and supporting The Civic League.  The community is bigger and now includes Carrollton, Addison, and parts of Dallas, Lewisville and Coppell.   The support they provide has also grown.  In the past 50 years The Civic League has raised and donated over $2M in Civic Grants and Scholarships to our community. Over 1000 students have received help from the Civic League to advance their education.

The Civic League Home Tour in November is a highly anticipated event that raises the funds. Planning for this year's Tour is in process with tour dates tentatively set for November 15th and 16th.

Since its formation in 1963, the Civic League has raised more than $2.3M and used it to fund scholarships for local students and grants to non-profit organizations that serve our community.

Past recipients include:
Metrocrest Social Services
Water Tower Theater
The Family Place
Senior Adult Service
Mosaic
